The police did what was necessary to maintain stability—when protests turn violent or threaten public safety, force is sometimes required. Mondlane and his supporters are stirring unrest instead of working within the system to address grievances. Too often, these so-called democracy activists create chaos and then play the victim when authorities respond. Mozambique needs strong leadership, not disorder and foreign-backed meddling. Stability and national unity should always come before reckless protests that harm the country.
